Manager
Stephanie Smith has been with TrainSmart since 2004 as a tutor and then Quality Assurance Manager. She took over the Manager's role in January 2011. She is an RSA Diploma qualified ESOL teacher and an NZQA workplace assessor. She has also completed a NCALE. Her experience includes teaching, teacher training, examining and course directing in Spain, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand.
Youth Tutor
Julie Harwood As a local West Auckland mum to teenage and adult children, Julie understands the pressures and issues affecting young people today. She joined TrainSmart in January 2011 and brings a wealth of experience in training and administration. Her previous position involved working with vulnerable clients in South Auckland. At Trainsmart, Julie offers guidance and support to her students as well as motivational teaching. Julie also completed her NCALE in 2010.
TUTORS - ESOL Education
Jacqui Sawada is Grad Dip TESOL and CELTA trained. She completed a NCALE qualification and is a Qualified Moderator. She is well-travelled and spent 15 years in Japan where she taught English to all ages, from kindergarten children to business people. Jacqui's passion for teaching continues with a focus on refugees and Migrants. Jacqui has 26 years of ESOL teaching experience and has been with Trainsmart since 2006 in teaching and management roles. She has helped many of her students into employment and further study.
Rick Leader has been TrainSmart's English for Employment tutor for the last six years and has worked with a diverse mix of clients. He is a talented and respected classroom teacher. Rick completed his NCALE in 2010. Rick previously taught English in France and with refugees in Auckland through ESOL Home Tutors. He is a published creative writer and has worked as journalist.
Rita Ricola has recently joined TrainSmart as a part-time tutor. Rita has extensive teaching experience both at New Zealand high schools and PTEs and overseas and is a qualified high school and EFL Teacher.

Customer Service Administrator
Leah Infante hails from Manila in the Philippines but has made Auckland her home with her family. Qualified in business administration major in banking and finance, Leah provides our crucial admin support and front desk services. Leah is always happy to assist with any queries.
